Breaker Morant

 In our history ‘The Breaker’ Harbord Morant, popularly known as Breaker Morant, was an Anglo-Australian drover, horseman, bush poet, military officer, and war criminal who was convicted and executed for murdering six prisoners-of-war and three captured civilians in two separate incidents during the Second Anglo-Boer War.

In Ken’s imaginative retelling, when the Martians invade the Breaker is part of the South Australian military contingent in London as part of the planned parade for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.
